Python Job: Python Developer

Description:

Bank is looking for a hands-on developer to join the Firmwide developer tools and systems group, MSDE. MSDE is responsible for shaping the SDLC within Morgan Stanley by implementing the tools, systems, and processes used by 12,000+ developers in the Firm for software development and deployment. The candidate will be working with a team of developers and data scientists on the firms Agile/DevOps Data Warehouse. Typical tasks involve building data pipelines to collect, transform, and analyze data to deliver KPIs which help decision makers make data driven decisions with respect to their Agile and DevOps practices.Prior experience in the financial industry is not required; candidates from software companies are welcome.

Skills Required:

?Hands-on large-scale backend development experience in Python.

?Experience with Relational Databases. Comfortable exploring a database to create and modify complex queries with SQL.

?Strong understanding of Database Views

?Experience working in a Linux environment.

?Highly technical and passionate about development tooling, processes, and DevOps.

?Experience working as a developer on a large-scale project in an agile, globally-distributed environment.

?Interested in getting to bottom of things - to understand how they work and why.

Skills Desired:

?Experience manipulating data with Pandas efficiently.

?Experience with building REST APIs (Flask, Django, or Similar)

?Hands on development experience with Java.

?Deeper understanding of development tooling such as JIRA, Jenkins, and Bitbucket
.?Experience with automated testing, and/or deployment pipelines

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $60.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift

• Montreal, QC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
